where does the right common carotid originate from? from the brachiocephalic artery
where does the left common carotid arise from? from the aortic arch
originates from the common carotid artery & enters the base of the skull through the carotid foramen internal carotid arteries
supplies blood to the middle & anterior cerebrum internal carotid arteries
arise from the common carotid artery & extends laterally along the neck through the parotid gland to the TMJ external carotid arteries
supplies blood to the face and neck external carotid arteries
originates from the subclavian artery vertebral
ascend through the transverse foramina of C6-C1 where they enter the foramen magnum and join the basilar artery vertebral
the vertebral and basilar artery supply blood to what aspect of the brain the posterior aspect
descend within the transverse foramina of the cervical vertebrae along with the vertebral arteries to drain the cervical spinal cord & posterior surface of the skull vertebral veins
bifurcation occurs at: C3-C4

how long does it take contrast to reach the aortic arch? 12-15 seconds

if there is pathology which side is contrast injected? the opposite side
if the patient had a mastectomy what side is contrast injected on? on the side opposite of the mastectomy even if patho is on that side
if the patient has a port, contrast will not be seen in the subclavian? true
