Bismarck & Socialism

In what year was the SPD party formed? 1875
What two socialist groups combined to form the SPD? The ADAV, German Workers Association and the SDAP, Social Democratic Workers Party
What was class rule? A type of hierarchy starting with the landed elite, then the industrialists and lastly the workers
Why were the Socialists a threat to class rule? The Junkers and the industrialists how had money and power because of the working class, and by the socialists advocating their unity they'd potentially have enough power to overthrow their rule
What happened to cause the passing of the Anti-Socialist Bill in 1878? Two assassination attempts on the emperor which Bismarck blamed the SPD. The National Liberals who were resistant to pass the law were blamed also and after the Reichstag was dissolved in 1878 the support for both parties lowered.
How many votes did the SPD party win in 1977 and then in 1890? 1877 = 493,000 1890 = 1,427,000
What three acts made up state socialism and when were they introduced? 1883 = the sickness insurance act 1884 = the accident insurance act 1889 = old age and disability act
