Simple PastPast Participle
( INFINITIVE: BLOW ) SIMPLE PAST: BLEW She blew by us on her new bicycle. PAST PARTICIPLE: BLOWN She had blown by us on her new bicycle.
( INFINITIVE: BREAK ) SIMPLE PAST: BROKE The cat broke the vase. SIMPLE PAST: BROKEN The cat has broken the vase.
( INFINITIVE: DO ) SIMPLE PAST: DID She did her homework early. SIMPLE PAST: DONE She had done her homework early.
( INFINITIVE: DRAW ) SIMPLE PAST: DREW He drew a beautiful picture. SIMPLE PAST: DRAWN He has drawn a beautiful picture.
( INFINITIVE: EAT ) SIMPLE PAST: ATE I ate too much chocolate. SIMPLE PAST: EATEN I have eaten too much chocolate.
( INFINITIVE: FLY ) SIMPLE PAST: FLEW The bird flew in the window. SIMPLE PAST: FLOWN The bird has flown in the window.
( INFINITIVE: GROW ) SIMPLE PAST: GREW She grew two inches in six months. SIMPLE PAST: GROWN She has grown two inches in six months.
( INFINITIVE: KNOW ) SIMPLE PAST: KNEW The spy knew too much. SIMPLE PAST: KNOWN The spy had known too much.
( INFINITIVE: RIDE ) SIMPLE PAST: RODE She rode in her mom's new car. SIMPLE PAST: RIDDEN She had ridden in her mom's new car.
( INFINITIVE: SEE ) SIMPLE PAST: SAW I saw a lovely sunset. SIMPLE PAST: SEEN I have seen a lovely sunset.
( INFINITIVE: SHAKE ) SIMPLE PAST: SHOOK He shook the carbonated water before his brother opened the bottle. SIMPLE PAST: SHAKEN He had shaken the carbonated water before his brother opened the bottle.
( INFINITIVE: SHRINK ) SIMPLE PAST: SHRANK Her sweater shrank in the washer. SIMPLE PAST: SHRUNK Her sweater had shrunk in the washer.
( INFINITIVE: SPEAK ) SIMPLE PAST: SPOKE He spoke too soon. SIMPLE PAST: SPOKEN He had spoken too soon.
( INFINITIVE: TAKE ) SIMPLE PAST: TOOK She took too much hot chocolate. SIMPLE PAST: TAKEN She has taken too much hot chocolate.
( INFINITIVE: THROW ) SIMPLE PAST: THREW He threw the basketball to half-court. SIMPLE PAST: THROWN He had thrown the basketball to half-court.
