When do you use the "Imperfect Tense?" You use the imperfect to describe things that would regularly happen.
When do you use "Ser?" To describe permanent traits of objects of people. To indicate origin, nationality, and profession. To indicate where something takes place. To indicate possession.
When do you use "Estar?" To describe temporary traits, emotional states, conditions. To indicate location. To form the progressive tense.
Affirmative and Negative commands with Ud and Uds. Hablar -> Hables Comer -> Comas Traer -> Traigas
Subjunctive Tense When someone wants, demands, or suggests someone else to do something. (AR -e, -es , -e, -emos, -en) (ER&IR -a, -as, -a, -amos, -an)
When to use/decide between Por vs. Para? Por: To indicate length of time, where an action takes place, an exchange, reason, action on someone's behalf, and means of transportation. Para: To indicate purpose, destination, a point in time or deadline, use of something or purpose, and opinion
Present Perfect Tense To form the present perfect, you take the (present form of verb) + (a past participle). Hablar -> Hablo -> Hablado Comer -> Como -> Comido Salir -> Salgo -> Salido Irregularities = -to, -so, -cho
Pluperfect Tense You use the pluperfect to describe an action in the past that occurred before another action in the past. To form the pluperfect, you take the (imperfect tense of haber) + (a past particple)
Present Perfect of Subjunctive Tense. This tense is used to actions that may have been performed before the main verb. To form the tense you take the (present subjunctive of haber) + (a past participle)
The Perfect Future Tense The tense is used to explain what would have happened by a certain time. To form the tense you use the (future verb of haber) + (a past participle).
Pero vs. Sino The definition of both words are "but," yet you use pero when the first part of the sentence is positive and sino when it is negative. You can have "Tenía hambre pero no comí" because "no" is AFTER pero.
The Conditional Tense You use the tense to describe what a person or a situation would be like. To form it all you have to do is attach -ía,-ías,-ía,-íamos,-ían. If you can't do that, I'm praying for you.
Imperfect Subjunctive Tense This tense is used to state subjectivity in the past after the verbs, impersonal expressions and/or conjunctions. To form it, you take the past tense of the verb and attach (-ar)-ara,-aras,-ara,-áramos,-aran or (-er,-ir) -iera,-ieras,-iera,-éramos, -ieran
The Pluperfect Subjunctive Tense This tense describes actions in the past when one action takes place before the other. To form the tense, you take the (past subjunctive of haber) + (a past participle)
The Conditional Perfect Tense This tense describes what would or should have happened in the past. To form the tense you take the (regular conditional of haber) + (a past participle)
