Equator An imaginary line drawn around the earth equally distance dividing the earth into northern and southern hemispheres
Parallel are the lines of latitude
Prime Meridian is the line at 180 degrees longitude
Meridian is the lines of longitude
Hemisphere a half of the earth
Tropic of Cancer a line of latitude about 20 degrees to the north of the equator
Tropic of Capricorn a line of latitude about 20 degrees to the south of the equator
Cardial directions n,s,e and w are called the cardial directions
Intermediate directions NE, SE, SW and NW are called the Intermediate directions.
Latitude The angular distance of a place north or south of the earth's equator
Longitude The angular distance of a place east or west of the meridian
International Dateline is an imaginary line on the surface of the Earth, that runs from the north to the south pole
Tropic zone the part of the Earth's surface between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn
Compass rose is a design on a map that shows directions. It shows north, south, east, west, northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest.
Legend/Key is a box near the map showing where something is located.
Scale is a tool on a map to measure distance
