Functionalists belief that the structures of society are set up to allow society to run smoothly as possible. Durkheim was keen on the keen idea that individuals internalise the norms and values (the rules and ideas) of society. What does this mean? | Norms and values become part of who you are-your personality and your identity. the result is consensus , which means everyone sharing the same norms and values. |
What did Durkheim call the shared norms and values that hold society together? | The COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS OF SOCIETY. |
