| divide | to seperate into equal groups or equal parts |
| dividend | the number to be divided in a division problem |
| division | the operation of making equal groups to find the number in each group or to find the number of equal groups |
| divisor | the number by which a number is divided |
| equation | a number sentence that uses the equal sign to show that two amounts are equal |
| factor | a number that is multiplied by another number to find a product |
| multiplication | the operation using repeated addition of the same number; combining equal groups |
| multiply | to join or combine equal groups |
| product | the answer to a multiplication problem |
| quotient | the answer to a division problem |
| repeated addition | Multiplication; the combining of the same value over and over |
| repeated subtraction | Division; the taking away of the same value over and over |
| strip diagram | a model or drawing that looks like a strip of tape; strip diagrams are used to represent number relationships |
