| chemical change | new substance and composition changes (burn, cook, fizz) |
| physical change | composition not changed (cut, dissolve) |
| concentration | to make a solution stronger by adding more solute |
| dilute | to make a solution weaker by adding more solvent |
| conservation of matter | matter is neither created nor destroyed |
