Anterograde | Inability to create new memory. Usually the last to recover after comatose state. Contributing factors: poor attention, distractibility, impaired precetion of stimuli. |
Retrograde | Inability to remember events prior to the injury. Decreases with recovery |
Post-traumatic amnesia | Time between the injury and when the patient is able to recall recent events. Do not recall injury or events up until this point of recovery. Used as an indicator of the extent of damage. |
