Thyroid Gland | Butterfly shaped, produces triiodothyronine and thyroxine that act to control the rate at which cells burn the fuel from food. |
Parathyroid Glands | Four of these that produce parathyroid hormone which important to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphate. |
Adrenal Glands | Regulate water and sodium balance, the body's response to stress, immune system, sexual development and function, metabolism. |
Pancreas | Islets of Langerhans - hormone producing cells (glucagon & inculin). |
