Term | Definition |
Human Geography | The branch of geography that studies all things human and human made. |
Physical Geography | The branch of geography dealing with natural features and processes. |
Maps | Typically a 2-D representation of our Earth in which you can see where people, places, and things are located |
Place | A theme in geography that allows us to describe the physical and human characteristics of a location. |
Site | a place where a particular event or activity is occurring or has occurred. |

Functional region | A functional region or Nodal region,region that has a defined core that retains a specific characteristic that diminishes outwards. To be considered a Functional region, at least one form of spatial interaction must occur between the center and all other |
Vernacular Region | the language or dialect spoken by the ordinary people in a particular country or region. |
Space | a continuous area or expanse that is free, available, or unoccupied. |

Cartography | the science or practice of drawing maps. |
thematic map | A thematic map is a type of map or chart especially designed to show a particular theme connected with a specific geographic area. |
Map Scale | Map scale refers to the relationship (or ratio) between distance on a map and the corresponding distance on the ground |
Map Projection | A method for representing part of the surface of the earth or a celestial sphere on a plane surface. |
