| why would the union army need to resupply Fort Sumter? | they need to resupply because they are surronded because there on a island. they would have to stay there for a while so they would need more food, water, and weapons to survive. |
| what advantages would a floating battery have? | it gets little damage and it moves in the water so it's hard to aim at it. |
| what are the border states? | wedged between the north and south. the states were DE, MD, KY, and MO. no slave states were border states. |
| north's advantages: | population, railroad miles, factories, more developed economy, and exports. |
| south's advantages: | strong military, good officers into battle, strategic, didn't need to travel huge distances, made it difficult for north to cross the wilderness, and more familiar with the area. |
