Magma | molten rock in the earth's mantle |
Epicentre | where an earthquake originates/is focused |
Lahar | Indonesian word for mud-debris landslide that flows from volcanoes |
Viscosity | how thick or runny lava is, affects explosivity |
Inner core | centre of the earth, solid, made of iron and nickel |
Focus | point on the earth's surface directly above the epicentre |
Plates | large slabs of crust/rock which continually move and/or float on the mantle |
Destructive plate boundaries | A destructive plate boundary happens where an oceanic and continental plate move towards each other. |

sulphur dioxide | a gas which is blasted into the earth from a volcano |
