| Apprenticeship | A trainee engages in learning an occupation under the guidance and direction of a skilled worker; a 3-4 year training program on the job training with related technical instruction. |
| ASSET | An assessment-advising program designed to identify the basic skill levels of students as they enter two-year institutions. |
| ASVAB | Is a test development and maintained by the United States Department of Defense. |
| Bachelor's degree | Achieved after completion of a curriculum meeting demands of a 4-year college program. |
| Certificate | A written statement that is accepted as proof of certain facts; often attainment of specific skills. |
