Accessory hemiazygous vein | Vein collecting blood from the cranial five intercostal veins on the L side; empties into azygous vein |
Accessory obturator nerve | branch of the lumbar plexus emerging from the medial side of psoas major & crossing to the sup pubic ramus to supply part of the pectineus musc |
Anterior interventricular artery | Descending branch of the L coronary art in the ant interventricular sulcus; the greater cardiac vein accompanies this artery. |
Aorta | Arises from the L ventricle; |
Aortic semilunar valve | 3-cusped valve at the jxn of the L ventricle & aorta, just inf to the coronary arteries |
Arcuate ligaments | tendinous arches of the posterior abdom wall connected to the diaphragm & the transv processes of the vert |
Ascending colon | 1st part of the colon ascending along the R side of the abdom |
Atrioventricular sulcus | surf groove on the ant wall of the heart indicating the boundary between the atrium & ventricle |

Azygous vein | vein ascending along R side of the thoracic vert collecting blood from the intercostal spaces & emptying into the sup vena cava |
Bare area of the liver | area of the sup surf of the liver that is not covered by the peritoneum and is in direct contact w/ the diaphragm |

(Common) Bile duct | conduit of bile; arises at the jxn of the cystic & the cmn hepatic ducts and terminating in the duodenum; in hepatoduodenal ligament ant to the portal vein |
Brachiocephalic artery | 1st branch of aortic arch; divides into R subclavian & R cmn carotid arteries |
Brachiocephalic veins | paired vessels formed by the joining of the internal jugular & subclavian veins on both sides; merges to create the sup vena cava |
Bronchopulmonary segments | fxn'l divisions of the lobes of the lungs identifiable by tracing the tertiary bronchi |
Bronchus | primary division of the trachea; services 1 lung |
