Cardiac Cycle | One complete period of depolarization and repolarization of the cardiac muscle cells
P wave | Atrial depolarization
PR Interval | Time required for conduction from the SA node to AV node. THe time between atrial and ventricular depolarization. This is normally .12 to .2 seconds
QRS Complex | Ventricular depolarization and atrial repolarization
QT Interval | Electrical systole that is measured by the time elapsed from the start of the Q wave to the end of the T wave. This is normally .32 to .40 seconds
ST Segment | Delay before repolarization of the ventricles; useful in assessing myocardial ischemia
T Wave | Ventricular repolarization
ECG | Surface electrodes record the electrical activity of the heart. A 12-lead ECG provides 12 views of the heart; it is used to asses cardiac rythym, to diagnose the location, extent , and acuteness o myocardial ischemia and infarction; and to evaluate | changes with activity |
