Term | Definition |
Undergraduate | A student at a college or university who has not yet earned a bachelor's or equivalent degree. |
Graduate Student | a student who continues studies after graduation |
Alumni | A graduate or former student, esp. male, of a particular school, college, or university |
Admission | The process or fact of entering or being allowed to enter a place, organization, or institution |
Bachelor's Degree | an academic degree conferred on someone who has successfully completed undergraduate studies. |
Associate's Degree | a degree granted by a two-year college on successful completion of the undergraduates course of studies |
ACT Test | The ACT college readiness assessment is a curriculum- and standards-based tool that assesses readiness for college. |
SAT Test | A test that purportedly measures the aptitude of high-schoolers for college |
Transcript | A written or printed version of material originally presented in another medium |
Financial Aid | Scholarships you get in college |
Minor | Lesser in importance, seriousness, or significance |
Major | Important, serious, or significant |
Credits | The ability to obtain goods or services before payment, based on the trust that payment will be made in the future |
Public College | the university's funding comes partly from state taxpayers. |
Private College | Private schools, also known as independent schools, are not administered by local, state or national governments |
