Question | Answer |
Equator | An imaginary line that circles Earth halway betwen the North Pole and the South Pole. This line divides Earth into the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere. |
Prime Meridian | An imaginary line that runs from the North Pole to the South Pole and divides Earth into the Western Hemisphere and the Eastern Hemisphere. |
Gulf | Parts of sea or ocean that cuts into a mass of land. |
Bay | Similar to a gulf, but usually it is smaller and has a wide opening to the sea. |
Source | Where a river begins. |
Mouth | Where the river empties into a larger body of water like an ocean or a lake. |
Tributary | a small stream that feeds into a river |
Delta | This is formed when soil is deposited at the mouth of a river. It is usually shaped like a triangle. |
