Question
Answer
Motion   An object is in motion when its distance from another object is changing.
🗑
Reference Point   A place or object used for comparison to determine if something is in motion.
🗑
Internation System of Units (SI)   Scientists all over the world use this system so that they can communicate clearly.
🗑
Meter   The basic unit of length.
🗑
Speed   A rate (usually rapid) at which something happens.
🗑
Avereage Speed   The speed of most mooving objects is not constant. Because of this we can calculate average speed.
🗑
Instantaneous Speed
🗑
Velocity   Speed in a given direction.
🗑
Slope   The slant of a line on a graph.
🗑
Acceleration   Cause to move faster.
🗑
How do you know if an object is moving?   If it changes position relative to a(n) reference point.
🗑
Why is it important to know if your reference point is moving?   So you can know if an object is in motion.
🗑
Suppose you are riding in a car. Describe your motion relative to the car, the road and the sun.
🗑
What is the SI unit for length?   Meter.
🗑
How many centimeters are there in a meter? How many meters are there in a kilometer?   100 centimeter in a meter. 1,000 meters in a kilometer.
🗑
This week at swim practice, Jamie swam a total of 1500 m, while Ellie swam 1.6 km. Convert Ellie’s distance to meters. Which swimmer swam the greater distance?   Ellie swam a greater distance.
🗑
What is speed?   Rapidity of movement or action.
🗑
What do you know about the motion of an object that has an average speed of 1 m/s?
🗑

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
