What are atoms and molecules attracted to?   Atoms and molecules that make up a solid, liquid, or gas are attracted to one another.

What happens when a solid has strong attraction?   In a solid, the atoms are very attracted to one another. Because of this strong attraction, the atoms are held tightly together.
