Is there a difference between the sociologist and an anthropologists? | Anthropology seeks to understand human existence over geographic space and evolutionary time. Sociology seeks to understand contemporary social organization, relations and change.

What is culture? | The knowledge, language, values, customs and material objects that are passed from person to person and from one generation to the next in a human group or society.

What is the difference between counterculture and subculture? | Counterculture strongly rejects the dominant societal values and norms, where subculture is a group of people who share a distinctive set of cultural beliefs and behaviors that differ in some way significantly from that of the larger culture.

What purpose does socialization serve? | The lifelong process of social interaction through which individuals acquire a self identity and the physical, mental, and social skills needed for survival in society.

How does socialization occur? | Agents of socialization are the groups, institutions and people that teach us what we need to know in order to participate in society.
