| SCIENTIFIC METHOD | A method of investigation involving observation and theory to test scientific hypotheses.

| HYPOTHESIS | A scientific idea about how something works, before the idea has been tested.

| INDEPENDENT VARIABLE | A condition that is manipulated to test for a response in an experiment. It is not effected by other factors in the experiment.

| DEPENDENT VARIABLE | An observed variable in an experiment. Changes in the dependent variable are reliant on one or more independent variables.

| EXPERIMENTAL CONTROL | An experimental control is used to prevent and minimize unintended influences from other variables in the experiment.

| DENSITY | A measure of the amount of matter contained in a given volume.

| PERCENT ERROR | A measurement of how far off a given value is from the accepted value.

| SIGNIFICANT FIGURES | A way of describing the accuracy of a number or measurement.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
