Think Win Win

        Help!

Module 11: Balance courage and consideration   Main Point: Think Win Win is about building effective relationships with people by working for their benefit while you are working for your own benefit
🗑
Win-Lose   "I'm going to beat you no matter what" You can't win unless someone else loses
🗑
Lose-Win   "I always get stepped on" Low on courage and high on consideration. Insecure, easily taken advantage of, coward, victim
🗑
Lose-Lose   "If I'm going down, you're going down with me." If you cant win, no one will win. You get revenge, are envious, and are critical of others.
🗑
Win-Win   "We're going to win together." Win-Win or no deal. The balance of courage and consideration helps you walk away before someone loses-including yourself.
🗑
Courage and Consideration Matrix   Being in the upper right corner is ideal, where you stay high in both categories and go for the Win-Win.
🗑
Module 12: Make deposits in other people's Emotional Bank Account(EBA)   Main Point: The key to making friends is to deposit acts of kindness and helpfulness in their EBA, while avoiding making withdrawals.
🗑
Emotional Bank Account (EBA)   The relationship is like a bank account and the deposits and withdrawals are emotional. Deposit-helps relationship Withdrawal-hurts relationship
🗑
Types of deposits   Understand what a deposit/withdrawal means for that person, Small acts of kindness, Keep promises, Keep confidences, Be loyal to the absent, Set clear expectations, Apologize, Forgive
🗑
Understand what a deposit/ withdrawal means for that person   Do not assume a deposit for you is the same for someone else.
🗑
Small acts of kindness   Bestow kindness on everybody
🗑
Keep promises   Must see to believe. Don't break promises because that leads to distrust that takes a long time to rebuild.
🗑
Keep Confidences   Be careful with other peoples private information they have granted you knowledge of.
🗑
Be loyal to the absent   Avoid gossip and stand up for others. Participation in gossip might create insecurity from others about your character
🗑
Set clear examples   Don't let things get fuzzy in your personal or professional life. Say what you want and mean, ask questions and follow through.
🗑
Apologize   Admit guilt without delay. Avoid waiting, creating excuses, and ultimately creating a bigger withdrawal
🗑
Forgive   Avoid hurting yourself the way you were hurt by learning to forgive and forget.
