Meaning/ Usage
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)   Part of the U.S. Department of Labor. Mission is to ensure workplace safety and a healthy environment within the workplace.

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)   Mission is to enforce controlled substance laws and regulations and to prosecute both individuals and organizations who grow, manufacture, or distribute illegal substances.

Food and Drug Administration (FDA)   Controls all drugs for legal use. All laws pertaining to drug administration are initiated, implemented, and enforced by this agency.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)   Federal agency that provides facilities and services for the investigation, identification, prevention, and control of disease.

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)   Committed to protecting consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical, or mechanical hazard or can injure children.

The Joint Commission (TJC)   Mission is to continuously improve health care for the public by evaluating health organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value.

State Board of Pharmacy (BOP)   An agency that registers pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

DEA Form 41   Used to deal with outdated or damaged controlled substances. Must ask the DEA permission to destroy substances.

DEA Form 106   Used to report theft or loss of controlled substances.  
🗑
DEA Form 222   Used to order Schedule I or II controlled substances.  
🗑
DEA Form 224   Registration form for those that dispense controlled substances.  
🗑
DEA Form 225   Registration form for those that manufacture or distribute controlled substances.  
🗑
DEA Form 363   Registration form for those that compound or conduct a narcotic treatment program.
