Schedule II | Drugs have high potential for abuse and may lead to physical or psychological dependence. Are currently excepted for medical use in the U.S. Amphetamines, opium, cocaine,methadone, and various opiates.

Schedule III | Each drug potential for abuse less than those in I and II narcotic substances such as codeine.

Schedule IV | Low potential for abuse. Phenobarbitals, sedatives, Chloralhydrate.

Schedule V | Low potential for abuse. Compounds containing limited amounts of narcotics such as codeine.
