Factor
Reason
1. Latitiude   closer to the equator influences how warm it is. Closer to one of the poles (north or south) influences how cold it is.
🗑
2. Ocean Currents   Canada is affected by 3 currents. (Alaska, Labrador and the gulf of mexico) These currents bring warming or cooling effects in predictable patterns. EX icebergs
🗑
3. Wind and Air masses   The weight of the air is called pressure. When pockets of different air pressure meet wind is created
🗑
4. Elevation   air cools in temperature and rises in height. Eventually it releases moisture if cold enough. The rate of cooling is 1 degree drop per every 100m you go higher
🗑
5. Relief (height of land)   Different sides of a mountain get different forms of weather
🗑
6. Nearness to water   Large bodies of water (like oceans and lakes) influence climate. Keeps our winters milder and summers cooler.
