| What is justice? | At the most general level it signals “doing, being, declaring, or bringing about what is right,” with the specific connotation being dictated by context.

It’s not just something applied to big social and cultural problems.
It is not just some big theory. It must be applied in the routine of our lives.
It is multifaceted.

Lifting the foot of domineering power off the neck of the dominated and oppressed

| What are the common images of justice? | The prophetic symbol of justice is a mighty, surging river. Biblical justice is thus not a static state but, says Abraham J. Herschel, “Justice is more than an idea or a norm: justice is charged with the omnipotence of God. What ought to be, shall be!”
