What is video modeling?   Video modeling is a technology-based method that can be used to teach a wide range of skills to persons with ASD or other disabilities, or typical peers.

How does video modeling work?   It uses video/digital clips of either the individual being taught, or other models(parents, teachers, etc.) performing a target behavior or sequence of behaviors. The learner watches the video and is then asked to perform the target behavior.

Who can benefit from video modeling?   Video modeling can help people with and without disabilities. Examples include individuals with ASD, learning disabilities, Down Syndrome, physical disabilities, as well as normally developing students.

What behaviors can video modeling teach?   A few (out of many) behaviors video modeling can teach include behaviors related to communication, emotion recognition, social initiation, daily skills, and academics.

Where can video modeling be implemented?   It is used in a variety of settings, including school, home, clinics, and community. In schools, video modeling can be used in both general and special education classrooms, as well as mixed settings.

What are the different types of video modeling?   Video modeling, video self-modeling, point-of-view video modeling, video prompting

Who is the model in regular video modeling?   The model can be anyone besides the learner, such as parents, teachers, siblings, or peers.

What is the main concept of point-of-view video modeling?   To show how the target behavior would look through the learner's eyes.

What is the main concept of video prompting?   To teach a sequence of skills step-by-step.
