What does LANDING refer to?   It is the first DMP, and involves the DISTRIBUTION OF FORCE over time to cushion momentum, and the SPREAD of base support over a SURFACE area to absorb force sequentially.

What is STATICS?   STATICS is the held/still position that includes balances (unstable), supports (stable) and hands (shoulders below apparatus). The key is CENTRE OF GRAVITY; within, above, size, and segments relative to the base of support.

What are LOCOMOTIONS in DMP?   LOCOMOTIONS refers to the repetitive displacement of the body, an action that travels somewhere. Includes, feet, support, or hang.

What are ROTATIONS?   ROTATIONS are around an axis of the body; left/right, front/back, or longitudinal. A force is applied that DOES NOT travel through the centre of gravity.

What are SWINGS?   They are a ROTATION around an external exist. GRIP is the key, and regrasping occurs at the top of the backswing or at the deadpoint.

What are SPRINGS?   SPRINGS refer to a RAPID DISPLACEMENT of the body; a REBOUND action.

What is EDUCATIONAL GYMNASTICS?   EDUCATIONAL GYMNASTICS refers to a PROBLEM SOLVING approach to teaching gymnastics. Leaders pose a problem that has exploratory answers, and the child chooses a response in their own capabilities. The focus is CONCEPT

How are apparatuses used in educational gymnastics?   Either MANIPULATIVE or as OBJECTS TO TRAVEL ON.
