Focal Point   the tableaux must have a clear focus which the audience is supposed to focus on

Singular Tableau   a single tableau which portrays an idea, message, emotion, etc.

Silent Story Tableaux   a number of Tableau which tells a story without using spoken dialogue

Narrative Tableaux   a narrator (who can still be a part of the tableaux) tells a story which is represented in the tableaux

Moving Tableau   movement or moving transitions are used to link the tableaux together

Objects   if you are an 'object' in a tableau, you should not face the audience, but rather, face upstage. This will make it clear to the audience that you are an object rather that a character

Transitions   when performing a series of tableaux, it necessary to indicate to the indicate to the audience when one tableau ends and another begins. For this reason, one performer should be designated to clap his or her hands or snap his or her fingers to sig. trans

Neutral   performers indicate the beginning of a tableau performance by standing in neutral (all actors are in a circle with their backs towards each other, facing outward)
