Technological Subsystem:
This subsystem is composed of material objects and how those objects are used.
Environmental Determinism:
he belief that the physical environment by itself shapes humans, their actions, and their thoughts.
cultural ecology:
The study of the relationships between a culture group and their environment
Ideological Subsystem:
This subsystem consists of ideas beliefs, mentifacts ( what we ought to believe), what we should value and how we should act.
ex. we should believe that we are one nation under god, but not all of us do, and we don’t have too.
Sociological:
The sum of those expected and accepted patterns of relationships that find their outlet in the greater society( Ex. militant fundamentalism. Nazism democratic ideals)
Culture Complex
an integrated assemblage of culture traits
ex. value of making money
What is culture?
Includes all the feature of a people’s way of life
Possibilism:
the viewpoint that people, not the environment, are the dynamic forces that shape culture.
Ex. Mrs. Hansen’s favorite sport is surfing
Culture Realm:
a set of cultural region that shows related cultural complexes and landscapes
