Human Geography

What is Demography? The statistical study of human population. Demographers collect statistics about populations and use them to forecast what future populations will be like.
What is Assimilation? The merging of cultural traits from previously distinct cultural groups
What is Population Density? The average number of people living in an area
What is Birthrate? The number of births each year for every 1,000 people living in a place
What are Push Factor? Causes people to leave a location
What are Refugees? People who have been forced to leave and cannot return to their homes
What is deathrate? The total number of deaths each year for every 1,000 people
What is Migration? The process of moving from one place to live in another
What is Emigrants? People who leave a country to live somewhere else
What are Immigrants People who come to a new country to live
What are Pull Factors Attracts people to a new location
