Utilsols acid, forest soils, in humid temperate regions where lots of weathering has occurred
gelisols cold area contains permafrost
entisols young soils usually found in steep and rocky area, rocky mountains
molliosols grassland soils, thick and dark adn very fertile
alfisols formed under trees generally found in temperate humid regions, good for agriculture
inceptisols found in mountainous areas, used for forestry and recreation
spodosols not fertile occur under coniferous forest
