What is a hill? a raised mass of land, smaller that a mountain
What is a plain/grassland? a broad, flat area of land
What is a moutain ? a steep mass of land, much higher thatn the surrounding land
What is a valley? low land between mountains or hills
What is an island ? land with water all around it
What is a peninsula? land that sticks out into the water and is surrounded on only three sides by water
What is a desert? a dry area where few plants grow
What is a forest? a large area where many trees grow
What is a lake? a body of water with land all around it
What is a river? a large stream of water that runs into a lake, ocean, or another river
What is an ocean? a salty body of water covering a large area of the earth
What is a gulf? a large body of ocean water that is partly surrounded by land
