| Migration | Move to warmer regions during cold months. |
| Mimicry | An animal that looks like another living thing that is poisonous of otherwise harmful. |
| External Features | Features or body parts on the outside of an animal's body. |
| Adaptation | A body part or behavior that helps a living thing survive in its environment. |
| Survive | To stay alive. |
| Organism | A living thing. |
| Camouflage | Coloring; marking or other physical features that help an animal blend in with its surrounding. |
| Hibernation | Go into a deep sleep during cold months. |
| Habitat | A living thing's home: all living things get food, water, and shelter from their habitat. |
| Geographic Region | A large region of land with a common set of features. |
| Atlantic Ocean Habitat | Large body of salt water to the east of the United States. |
| Mountain Habitat | An area of steep, rocky land with cool temperatures. |
| Piedmont Habitat | An area of rolling hills with red clay soil. |
| Coastal Plain Habitat | Found at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean; Georgia's coast is made up of sandy beaches, wetlands, and barrier islands. |
| Marsh/Swamp Habitat | An area of land along the edges of larger bodies of water where the ground is covered with water for long periods of time. |
| Blue Ridge Mountains Region | Geographic region in Georgia located between the Piedmont and Valley and Ridge regions. |
| Appalachian Plateau Region | Georgia's smallest region located in the northwestern corner of the state that consists of ridges, gorges and wide valleys. |
| Piedmont Region | Georgia's most populated region that consists of rolling hills with red clay soil. |
| Coastal Plain Region | Georgia's largest region that starts at the fall line and extends to the Georgia coast and to the Florida state line. |
| Valley and Ridge Region | Georgia's region characterized by low, open valleys in between the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains. |
