Volcanoes

Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

TermDefinition
Destructive margins Two plates move towards each other. Oceanic plate forced underneath and destroyed. Create ocean trenches and volcanoes.
Constructive margins Where two plates move away from each other magma creates more crust.
Conservative margins. Two plates slide past each other. Causes earthquakes. No crust changed.
Tectonic plates. Along margins usually.
Earthquake. Happens when plates rub against each other.
Earthquake prevention. Wide bases. Thin pointed tops. Cross bracing. Weight at bottom.
Volcano. magma, molten rock from the Earth's mantle, erupts onto the surface and cools.
