| Dams | Built to control flooding and generate hydroelectric power by controlling when and how much water goes down river. |
| Colorado River | A series of dams, reservoirs, and water storage to control and supply water to the Western U.S. |

| Acid Rain | Precipitation that is altered from normal due to human pollution. Can be dangerous to plants and animals. |

| Climate change | A potential change in the world climate due to human pollution and environmental decisions. |
