Geography Guide

QuestionAnswer
Absolute Location The definitive location of a place, using lattitude and longitude or street address.
Formal Region Areas designated by official boundaries, such as cities, states, counties, and countries
Place The physical and human characterisitics of a location.
Human Environmental Interaction The modification and adaptation of the physical environment by man.
Movement The study of the migration of goods, ideas, people,and resources around the planet.
Relative Location The general location of a place, using descriptions of surrounding features.
Functional Region Area defined by the job that takes place there, like a paper route.
Vernacular Region Regions that are defined by human perception, like "the south" or "the wrong side of the tracks"
