Population

Demographer Scientist who studies human populations
Birth Rate The number of live births per 1000 people in a year
Death Rate The number of deaths per 1000 people in a year

Population The total number of people living in an area
Population Density The number of people per unit of land area (sq. mile or sq. kilometer)
Population Distribution How people are spread out over an area.

Negative effects of population growth on people Shortages of food, water, medicine, and other resources
