| Geography | the study of Earth |
| Cardinal Directions | the directions north, south, east, or west |
| Latitude | the distance north or south of the Earth's equator, in degrees |
| Longitude | the distance east or west of the Prime Meridian, in degrees |
| Hemisphere | a half of Earth |
| Parallel | a line of latitude |
| Meridian | a line of longitude |
| Equator | an imaginary line drawn around the earth equally distant from both poles, dividing the earth into northern and southern hemispheres and constituting the parallel of latitude 0° |
| Movement | the travel of people, goods, and ideas from one location to another. |
| Regions | an area of land that has common features, and can be defined by natural or artificial features |
| Human-Environment Interaction | interactions between the human social system and the ecosystem |
| Location | the physical place a statistical unit is located and for which statistics are collected and disseminated |
| Place | describes the human and physical characteristics of a location |
| Absolute Location | its exact place on Earth, often given in terms of latitude and longitude |
| Relative Location | a description of how a place is related to other places |
| Prime Meridian | the line of 0° longitude, the starting point for measuring distance both east and west around Earth |
