| Absolute Location | the precise or exact location of a place |
| Relative Location | describing where something is in relation to its environment and surroundings |
| Latitude | lines running from west to east that measure distances north and south of the Equator |
| Longitude | lines running from north to south that measure distances west and east of the Prime Meridian |
| Place | the human, physical, and cultural characteristics of a location |
| Human-Environmental Interaction | relates to how humans shape and change their environment and how the environment affects people |
| Movement | travel of people, goods, and ideas from one location to another |
| Push Factors | factors that drive people out of a place |
| Pull Factors | factors that draw people into a place |
| Region | an area of land with common features |
| Formal Region | a region that rely on official borders for division |
| Functional Region | a region that consists of a center point that impacts a surrounding area |
| Perceptual Region | a region that is defined by common characteristics and opinions of a place |
| Location | The physical position of places on earth |
