Earthquakes

TermDefinition
Earthquake A series of seismic waves caused when plates collide.
Fault line A crack in the earths surface.
Focus The within the crust where the rock breaks and the earthquakes begin
Epicentre The surface above the focus
Seismograph Used to measure shocks caused by earthquakes
Richter Scale Used to measure earthquakes strength
Aftershocks Smaller tremors sent out after an earthquake
