| Term | Definition |

| Air pressure | The force pressing down on us because of the weight of the atmosphere. |
| Anemometer | An instrument for measuring the speed of the wind. |
| Cirrus | Cloud generally characterized by thin, wispy strands and found at high altitude. |
| Stratus | A continuous horizontal low level grey sheet of cloud, often with rain or snow. |
| Temperature | A measure of the warmth or coldness. |
| Isoline | A line on a map, chart, or graph connecting points of equal value. Used on weather maps to show air pressure. |
| Precipitation | Any atmospheric water vapour that falls under gravity. The main forms include drizzle, rain, sleet, snow, and hail. |
| Condensation | The change of the physical state of matter from gas phase into liquid phase, and is the reverse of evaporation. |
| Thermometer | An instrument for measuring and indicating temperature. |
| Cumulonimbus | Cloud forming a towering mass with a flat base at fairly low altitude and often a flat top, as in thunderstorms. |
