TermDefinition
deathrate the number of deaths compared to the total number of people in a population at a given time.
birthrate the number of babies born compared to the total number of people in a population a given time.
doubling time the number of years it takes a population to double in size based on it's current growth rate.
population distribution the geographic pattern of where people live.
population density the average number of people living within a square mile or a square kilometer.
urban describes an area that is densely populated.
rural describes an area that is lightly populated.
emigrate to leave ones home to live in another time.
immigrate to enter and live in a new country.
refugee a person who flees a country because of violence,war,persecution,or disaster.
urbanization when a city grows larger and spreads into nearby areas.
megalois a huge city or cluster of cities with an extremly large population.
