Climate/Landform
| Term | Definition |

| climate zones | are divisions of the Earth's climates into general climate zones according to average temperatures and average rainfall. |
| polar | coldest with temperatures almost always below freezing |
| temperate | contains most of the Earth’s land masses with more moderate temperatures and rainfall year-round |
| tropical | has the warmest average temperatures and gets the most rain |
| valley | Low-lying areas between two mountains or hills. |
| desert | Large, dry and hot areas of land which receive little or no rainfall throughout the year. |
| mountains | Highest landform on the surface of the earth. |
| plains | areas of flat land |
| plateau | Flat topped highland with steep sides. |
| hills | Are lower than mountains but are higher than their surrounding areas. |
| hills | Are usually covered with grass. |
| mountains | It is usually found to be conical in shape with steep sides and a pointed tip called a peak. |
| desert | The vegetation is scanty due to the shortage of water. |
| valley | When rivers flow down the mountainsides and hillsides, it wears off the rocks and soil. |
