vocab for region activity

TermDefinition
Formal Region an area that has 1+ common characteristics that differentiate it from another
Perceptual Region an area defined by thoughts and feelings; known by a nickname
Functional Region areas that are linked together that are able to function as a unit
Physical Characteristics features such as landforms, climate, and vegetation
Human Characteristics features such as religion, politics, and culture
Boundaries a dividing line between areas
Fuzzy Boundaries a boundary that is very "fuzzy" and almost nonexistent
Defined Boundaries a boundary that is very clear and able to see or be known clearly
Unifying becoming whole and united
