Landforms
| Term | Definition |

| Bay | Part of a large body of water ythat extends to shoreline. |
| Channel | wide or straight waterway between 2 landmassess. |
| Elevation | height above sea level. |
| Landform | indiviual features of the land. |
| Gulf | Part of large body of water. |
| Harbor | a sheltered place along a shoreline where ships can anchor. |
| Island | land completely surrounded by water. |
| Lake | A sizeable inland body of water. |
| Tropics | Low alltitude region between the tropic of csncer and capricorn. |
| Mountain | Land steep sides that rise sharply 1000feet. |
| Mountain Range | A series of connected mountains. |
| Peninsula | Body of land jutting out into a lake or an ocean surrounded by 3 sides by water. |
| Plain | Area of low land and low elevation covered with grass. |
| Plateau | flat or rolling land at high elevationusually 300-3,000 feet. |
| Physical Feature | charecteristics of a place naturally occuring like landforms climate ect... |
| River | Large natural stream of water that runs through land. |
| Sea | Large body of water partizlly or completely surrounded by land. |
| Strait | Narrow stretch of water joining 2 larger bodies of water. |
| Ocean | One of the 4 major bodies of salt water that surround the continents. |
| Volcano | Mountain as liquid rock and ash erupt from inside the earth. |
| Valley | Are between lowland + hills + moutains |
