Demographers scientists who study human populations
Birth Rate the number of live births per 1,000 people in a year
Death Rate the number of deaths per 1,000 people in a year
Infant Mortality Rate the number of infant death per 1,000 births
Population Distribution the spreading of people over an area of land
Population Density the number of people per unit of land
Migration the movement of people from one place to another
Emigrate to migrate out of a place
Immigrate to migrate into a place
Push Factor causes of migration that push people to leave their home country
Pull Factor pull, or attract, people to new countries
Urban located in cities
Rural settlement in the country
Urbanization movement of people from rural to urban areas
Slum poor overcrowded urban neighborhood
Suburban Sprawl spread of suburbs away from the core city
