TermDefinition
ABSOLUTE LOCATION The precise location of any place on earth.
DISTORTION A change in the shape size or position of a place when it is shown on a map.
MAP PROJECTION A way of representing the spherical earth on a flat surface.
RELATIVE LOCATION Where a place is located in relation to another place.
MAP LEGEND OR KEY List each symbol and shows what they mean.
MAP GRID Mapmakers often use systems of imaginary lines to dived space on their maps.
MAP SCALE The way to read the distances on a map.
