Our terms for geography
| Term | Definition |

| Compact state | A state that posses a roughly circular shape from which the geometric center is relatively equal in all directions. |
| Fragmented state | A state that includes several discontinuous pieces of territory. |
| Elongated state | A state whose territory is long and narrow in shape. |
| Prorupted state | a state that exhibits a narrow, elongated land extension leading away from the main territory |
| Perforated states | A state whose territory completely surrounds that of another state. |
| Landlocked state | A state that does not have a direct outlet to the sea. |
| Democracy | A system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. |
| Communism | A type of government in which the government owns everything and tries to evenly distribute it all among its citizens. |
| Monarchy | A form of government with a king and/or queen at the head. |
| Theocracy | A system of government in which priests rule in the name of God or a god. |
| Republic | A state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives. |
| Aristocracy | A form of government in which power is held by the nobility. |
| Oligarchy | A small group of people having control of a state. |
| Cooperate | Act jointly; work toward the same end. |
| Political | Of or relating to the ideas or strategies of a particular party or group in politics. |
| Military | Of, relating to, or characteristic of soldiers or armed forces |
| Economic | Justified in terms of profitability. |
